David John - Uyo

Uyo Lions Club has extended its humanitarian outreach to more than 100 residents of Ikot Ekpaw in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, distributing food items to support vulnerable members of the community in commemoration of World Day.

The outreach, led by the Club President, Lion Emem Usen, NLCF, underscored the club’s commitment to humanitarian service, community development and improving the welfare of people in need.

During the visit, food items were presented to over 100 beneficiaries, bringing relief and encouragement to residents of the rural community.

The initiative reflects the Lions Club’s enduring commitment to its humanitarian mission of serving communities, supporting vulnerable populations and promoting a culture of compassion and solidarity.

Expressing their appreciation, beneficiaries thanked  Uyo Lions Club for remembering their community and providing assistance. They also offered prayers for the organisation and its members, wishing them continued strength, grace and resources to sustain their humanitarian activities and positively impact more lives.

The outreach further demonstrates the importance of community-based interventions in addressing basic needs and strengthening relationships between service organisations and the communities they serve.

Through initiatives such as this,  Uyo Lions Club continues to demonstrate that meaningful service goes beyond words, translating compassion into practical action that touches lives and brings hope to those in need.
