The Calabar Cluster Lions Region officially launched its 2026/2027 service year activities with an exciting Novelty Football Match held on Friday, July 11, 2026, at Eastern Secondary School, Ediba, by Marian Road.

The much-anticipated encounter featured Team Lions Pride taking on Team Lions Heart in a spirited display of teamwork, determination, and camaraderie. After an entertaining 90 minutes, Team Lions Pride emerged victorious with a 2–1 win.

Led by Team Manager Lion Sylvia Osadebe, Team Lions Pride delivered an impressive performance to secure the victory. Congratulations to the team for a well-deserved win.

Special recognition also goes to Team Lions Heart, under the leadership of Team Manager Lion Kate Odey, whose resilience, passion, and exemplary sportsmanship made the match a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

More than just a football game, the event provided an opportunity for Lions, Leos, and invited guests to connect in a relaxed atmosphere. It was a day filled with recreation, networking, laughter, friendly competition, and meaningful fellowship—strengthening the bonds that unite us in service.

As the first activity of the new service year, the novelty match set an inspiring tone for the exciting programs and impactful initiatives ahead.
