The delegation of the Lions Clubs International was led by the International Director Dame Princess Tope Tychus PMJF, NLCF, accompanied by the Multiple Council Chairperson Ano Anyanwu PMJF, NLCF, the District Governor 404A2 Nigeria Lion Sir Maurice Ibok, and the Chairperson Disaster Relief Lion Dr. Sarah Walter George. 
Following their arrival, the team paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Governor of Borno State. The delegation received a heartfelt welcome, during which Lion Dame Temitope Tychus provided a brief introduction of Lions Club International, outlining its mission and commitment to humanitarian service. She emphasized the intention to deliver vital relief materials, courtesy of the Lions Club International Foundation, to support communities affected by recent floods.
The delegation then proceeded to the palace of the Shehu of Borno, where they were greeted with enthusiasm. The Shehu of Borno expressed his delight at the visit and was honoured with a decoration from District Governor Sir Maurice Ibok. He expressed admiration for the Lions Club s dedication to aiding the people of Maiduguri and indicated a desire to join the organization, recognizing the importance of their efforts for the communities under his palace.

Essential relief materials were donated to the displaced flood victims, ranging from food items, hygiene kits, medical supplies, water purifiers, and shelter materials—blankets, nets, and mats—for over 500 households with a minimum of 5 people per family.
